| My name is Kristen DeRosa. I am a stay at home mom with my 4 amazing children and many fur kids. All of my animals are pets first! I care more for the health, safety, and wellbeing of all my animals then anything. I never breed any animal unless I am 100% willing to keep the babies and I am! You may think it's harsh but I would rather keep my joeys than sell to just anyone. I encourage learning and welcome questions but I only sell my gliders to the best homes! Even if you've gotten a glider from someone else, I am always here to help. Here are a few frequently asked questions... What diet are your gliders on? My gliders are fed the BML (Bourbon's Modified Leadbeaters) Diet. The diet includes specified fruits, vegetables, and insects. There are many other approved diets to choose from. (Also make sure you are familiar with the safe fruits & vegetables that you can feed your glider.) My adoption contract does require you to have any gliders adopted from me on an approved diet. You can research them and choose the one that works best for you. What vet do you use? I take all my gliders to Dr. Factor at West End Vet in Newburgh, NY. How long have you been breeding your gliders? How many do you breed? I have been breeding sugargliders since 2006. I am often label as a "hobby breeder" because I choose to only breed one or two cages at a time. I like to be sure I have plenty of time to spend with each glider and joeys without becoming overwhelmed. Do you specialize in any colors? Currently, I am breeding for the possibility of producing White Tips, White Face, Champagnes, and standard grey hets. Would it be ok to see either pictures of where your gliders are kept or the actual spot in person? Of course! If you adopt from me, you can see all my gliders cages as soon as you come into my home. My gliders' cages are also publicly posted often. You can see one of my cages here, where I won GliderCENTRAL's cage contest in 2008. I also now have my cages posted on My Gliders page. Do you have a customer comment section to read? No I do not but please feel free to post on GliderCENTRAL and/or Laurie's Glider Gazette and ask for references. There are plenty of people on there that have dealt with me for a variety of reasons as a breeder, friend, and/or a vendor. How often do you handle your joeys? I handle my joeys from their first day OOP, unless the mother is a new mother, (In that case I usually give her a few days before I hold the joeys) to ensure they are tame and well socialized before they go to their new homes. Do you offer a heath guarantee? Yes, I do! Please read my Adoption Policies for more details. Do you rescue gliders? While I can never turn away a glider in need, I do not have the resources and space to rescue on a regular basis. If you are looking for a rescue or have gliders you need to rehome, feel free to contact me and I can help put you in touch with the many wonderful rescuers I know. If you would like to help these amazing people that rescue, please look into my Rags to Riches Program that I created to help support Sugarglider rescues. |
