Rags to Riches
What is Rags to Riches? Rags to riches is a program that KrysKritters created to help the many rescue sugargliders and the rescues that help them. It is designed in a way that even the smallest donation can make the biggest difference. How does it work? Donations can be made two ways. Money can be donated or scraps of fabric can be donated. Either way, what I do is take the scrap fabric or buy clearance fabric and make as many pouches and products that I can out of it at NO CHARGE. Then donate it to an approved rescue. Why do you do this? I believe that to be a responcible breeder/owner of gliders, you need to not only care of the wellbeing your gliders and joeys but help all those who need. With many gliders myself, I know how quickly they can go through pouches. Providing and replacing this items can be quite costly for the rescuer. (Not to mention the vet costs!) How can I help? You can help in two ways... 1) Donate (by mail) any gliders safe fabrics (fleece, cottons, etc) size and amount does not matter! Send fleece to: Kristen DeRosa 382 Forest Park Wallkill NY 12589 2) Donate money (via paypal or snail mail) The money will then be collected and used to buy fabrics (either on sale, clearance, or reminants) and help cover shipping costs. * Remember even $1 can help make a difference! * Please, if you have any further questions, do not hesitate to contact me at KrysKritters@yahoo.com
This program is still new and developing, I welcome any and all questions & concerns. Please feel free to contact me!
November 1, 2008 I now have a decent amount of materials thanks to all of your generous donations and have already begun to sew items. I hope to have a shipment ready just in time for the holidays! Pictures will be posted then along with who recieves which items in their shipments. Thanks again to all who participate and we can still use donations of all kinds, especially to help cover the cost of shipping. ~Krys
